Position Title: Renewable Energy Engineer
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position focuses on the activities regarding solar energy, waste water reuse for agricultural proposes and rain water harvesting which will enhance the financial resilience of households by reducing utility costs. The Renewable Energy Engineer is expected to provide technical knowledge, skills and quality in renewable energy activities and to have extensive experiences in solar energy, waste water reuse and rainwater harvesting.
Program management and evaluation:
a. Liaison with local contractors/partners and communities on project implementation and supervision.
b. Prepare Daily progress reports outlining project activities
c. Work closely with procurement department for ordering key supplies.
d. Prepare detailed technical designs and estimates related to construction
e. Conduct assessments of households and beneficiaries for the suitability of the interventions.
a. Represent World Vision in meetings with community and government representatives.
Advocacy and Communication:
a. Coordinate with Communication in publishing manual, guideline and success stories on renewable energy solutions adaptation within targeted communities and the impact of World Vision intervention in these communities.
b. Prepare trainings and awareness sessions materials and conduct trainings for beneficiaries on operation and maintenance of systems.
a. To monitor construction/implementation expenses according to bill of quantity, project budget and World Vision financial procedure.
b. Prepare contractors/suppliers invoices within time and budget.
Senior Management Leadership:
a. To assist renewable energy coordinator in situation and program updates.
Human Resource Management:
a. To identify the capacity of renewable energy solutions contractors and suppliers.
b. To identify the capacity of members of the community to participate in the implementation.
a. Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity and a dynamic personal sense of life calling.
a. To develop project planning including designs BOQ TOR and project schedule for renewable energy interventions
b. Evaluate the intervention result.
University degree in Mechanical, water and environment, Renewable energy engineering or related fields.
a. Experience in renewable energy/solar, water and environment engineering at least 2 years
b. One-year experience in NGO work.
Knowledge & Skills:
a. Water, environment and Renewable Energy experiences and skills.
b. Renewable energy/Solar energy modelling tools, designs.
c. Wastewater treatment technologies
d. Water Resources Management.
e. Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written).
f. Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office and Lotus Notes.
g. Ability to interact with local partner, and beneficiaries.
h. Ability to conduct training for beneficiaries
