Team leader – Project Support-National

DRC is looking for an experienced Team Leader Project Support to manage our team and provide effective guidance. You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members and be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. You will be responsible for the coorsination and set-up of kick off and continued implementation of a large GIZ funded cash for work project in the south of Jordan, centered on Madaba. You will faciliatate and coordinate with local institutions, community stakeholders, and project partners in order to meet the overall GIZ project goals.

About the job

The individual will report directly to Base Manager Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Management

· Provide technical input and supervision of project works on program site/s.

Representation

· Facilitate continuous dialogue and communication between the technical partners, national partners, and project staff.

· Engage with local communities and governments in the work site areas to ensure project buy-in and local ownership of project activities.

Coordination

· Support the project manager with preparation of the GIZ project start up meeting, monthly follow up and exit meeting.

· Provide beneficiaries (Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians) with effective information and support on project Cash for Work activities.

· Liaise closely with the DRC Livelihood Technical Unit at the coordination office and other DRC Jordan departments when necessary.

Other

· Assist in ensuring Accountability, legal, protection, payment, safety information provided to the beneficiaries, and follow up with reminders so that workers know their rights

· Assist in attendance checks and payroll completion, including proper distribution and maintenance of ATM payment cards

· Deputize for the base manager when necessary

· Any other task as required

About you

Required

  • Maser degree is recommend in agriculture, water management, forestry, irrigation, natural resource management, or other relevant degree;
  • Experience working with rural communities in Jordan;
  • Experience working with local and national government entities in Jordan, specifically the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA), the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), and/or the Department of Forestry (FD);
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities and associated stakeholders;
  • Ability and willingness to maintain regular presence at project sites and to work during irregular working hours;
  • Computer skills (Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Understanding of the socio-economic conditions and needs of Syrian refugee populations desirable;

· Arabic (Native) and English (excellent)

We offer

Designation of Duty Station: Madaba with frequent travel to other governorates (Karak, Balqa, Tafileh, Amman)
