Regional Programme Advisor
Alternative child care, care reform, child safeguarding
(F/m)
Location: Amman, Jordan
Responsibilities:
· Supports programme development and monitors quality in SOS CV Member Associations in 6 Middle East countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq) in the area of alternative child care, child safeguarding and advocacy
· Provides expertise and builds capacity of SOS CV Member Associations in: implementing different forms of alternative child and youth care programmes; child safeguarding; methods of working with children with challenging behaviour and affected by trauma; and advocacy for child care reform and deinstitutionalization.
· Monitors and supports the implementation of organisational and international quality standards, policies, and guidelines in SOS CV Member Associations, including through evaluations and audits
· Contributes to the development of organisational policies and guidelines
Requirements:
· Higher university degree education in social sciences, social pedagogy, psychology, social policy, social work, child rights
· At least 5 years work experience in the field of alternative care, child welfare, child protection, child – and youth development.
· Experience in programmes in emergency settings
· Experience in advocacy for child welfare reform and deinstitutionalization
· Strong experience in programme monitoring and evaluation and quality management.
· Experience in organising and holding workshops, meetings and trainings
· Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
· Readiness to travel at least 30% of working time
