Pricing Analyst
Deliver business value through Right and Fast partnership
You will work with complex data sets to help businesses resolve and set competitive prices to gain market share and achieve revenue goals. Your highly analytical skills being essential to consider data from multiple sources and develop complex pricing models that reflect margins for promotional pricing based on competitor, market, and customer data.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain pricing tools and profitability models
• Grow total gross margin dollars by identifying pricing actions that support higher pricing realization through higher sale values, controlled discounting and sound pricing analysis methodologies
• Forecast margins to help the business understand the impact of discounting, promotional and seasonal pricing
• Monitor input costing changes and develop sensitivity analysis thresholds to provide reporting on potential changes to finished good prices
• Present pricing analysis on a monthly basis, with insights, trends, and suggestions
• Lead pricing-related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations
• Provide direct input and assistance to Senior Product Managers in value walk/value equation calculations for new product introductions (NPIs) pricing
• Maintain knowledge and stay ahead of developments in the industry via information obtained from financial publications and services, government agencies, company sources, and personal interviews
Skills and Requirements
• Financial management experience with planning, forecasting, and business analysis
• Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to drive analysis-directed change
• Demonstrate complex problem-solving proficiency and ability to identify/implement process and system improvements
• Proficiency with analytical and presentation tools (e.g. Excel pivot tables, graphing, PowerPoint)
• In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and practical experience in analyzing data, program metrics, and performance
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related analytical discipline preferred
• Marketing qualifications/experience is highly regarded
• Experience within a regulated B2B industry is also regarded
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Communication skills, written and verbal
Qualifications
Pricing analysts work with marketing teams to set and adjust prices based on statistical models and customer psychology
Examine and assess data from a variety of sources, ranging from competitor pricing data to customer segment profiles and cost data
This role requires excellent mathematical skills to derive insights from multiple data sources and utilize them to develop models and provide pricing advice to decision-makers
Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to resolve and firm prices, so they should be strong collaborators and coordinators
Develop a range of forecasts and models to assist decision-makers with setting and modifying prices, including margin forecasts that reflect seasonal and promotional pricing strategies
Effective analytical skills are vital in this role, as pricing analysts need to devise solutions to drive profitability and support revenue and market share goals
