Infrastructure / AWS Engineer

Summary:
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of cloud-based systems. And you will also be responsible for ensuring reliability and performance of the cloud hosted workloads. A successful person in this role must be comfortable working with and collaborating with other groups to achieve the desired result.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain cloud systems for reliability and resiliency
* Recommend and implement tools for continuous monitoring and logging of all deployed infrastructure
* Develop services, controls and patterns for public cloud that enable security and privacy
* Be responsible for assessing the suitability of workloads to the public cloud
* Work closely with technology and business leaders to understand and manage to priorities and hold to deadlines
* Assess business and users’ needs to provide proactive service and innovative solutions, including enhancements to pre-existing systems
* Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on patches, updates, upgrades, and implementations
* Ensure performance objectives are met and provide reporting to business and technical staff
* Remain informed and engaged on new technology developments and forecast trends in the area of cloud capabilities, and improvements in best practices
* Create and maintain infrastructure deployment diagrams and documentations for all projects
Required Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field degree or equivalent experience
* 3+ years of experience with network architecture, design and improvements
* 3+ years of experience in a hands-on role on cloud system Amazon Web Server (AWS)
* 3+ years of experience deploying and maintaining applications in the cloud
* 3+ years of experience performing infrastructure transformation
* 3+ years of experience designing and operating in a security-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with DevOps
* Experience in Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience with Linux OS
* Experience with CI/CD tools like CircleCI
* Experience in performance and scalability optimization
* Knowledge of cloud security best practices
* Ability to communicate technology matters to non-technical staff
