Purpose for the job:

Under the guidance of the Quality and Access Specialist, the Data and Information Management Officer will contribute to improved Programme planning, monitoring and reporting through the management, analysis and presentation of key education statistics from national databases and surveys as well as data on UNICEF education programmes and projects. The Data and IM officer will also lead and technically support the integration of data on non-formal education and other relevant data into Open EMIS.

How can you make a difference?

1. Regular monitoring and updates on relevant national and sub-national level education data from EMIS and other national surveys, institutions and data-bases; running and presenting key-data analysis of situation, trends and progress against major national and sub-national education indicators;

2. Compilation and analysis of data and drafting of information products on UNICEF education programmes including data-heavy initiatives such as the Learning for All (L4A) campaign, Learning Support Services, Hajati and Bayanati, and flexible technical advice, support and capacity building of the education section on collection, analysis and presentation of education data with a purpose of improved programming, monitoring and reporting;

3. Integration of data on non-formal education into Open EMIS, in close collaboration with MoE, QRC and UNESCO; with potential expansion to the provision of technical advisory support to collection and analysis of additional education data relevant to policy and programming for equitable access to quality education for all children in Jordan;

4. Compilation and analysis of relevant available data and drafting of IM products as required for the Education Sector Working Group and other specific audiences and/or on specific groups of children, including Education in Emergencies (EiE); Minority Groups (refugees, migrating children, OOSC); Early Childhood Education; Teacher Certification; NFE; Demand creation; Learning assessments;

5. Technical guidance and support to data and information management projects initiated under the umbrella of the education programme (such as RFID, Bayanati, school facilitators)

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

Education: University degree in education or social sciences with subjects including research, statistics, monitoring and evaluation, or equivalent through relevant experience.

Experience: Professional work experience in data collection and analysis, research, monitoring and evaluation in the area of human and social development; preferably in education.

Two years of relevant professional work experience. Developing country work experience (for IP) or field work experience (for NO)

Exposure to emergency programming and humanitarian crisis response is an asset.

Language requirement: Fluency in English and Arabic is required
