CONSULTANCY – TERMS OF REFERENCE

UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. Consultant – Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist – Data Warehouse and SAP

HQ Amman/ Gaza

BACKGROUND

The incumbent is responsible to the Solution Architect who is managing the Enterprise Business Intelligence project at UNRWA HQ Amman.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

· Design and documentation for the Data warehouse dimensional model according to the provided business requirements;

· Design and documentation for the SAP BW OLAP database;

· Design and documentation for SAP ABAP programmes that are responsible to extract and transform needed data from SAP ECC and save it in SQL tables’ format;

· Deployment and configuration packages for all created work components.

minimum Qualifications and Experience

· A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, computer engineering or other related discipline;

· At least five years’ work experience in the area of software applications development and implementation including two years at a senior level;

· Fluency in spoken and written English.

· Experience in designing complex data warehouse dimensional models;

· Experience in SAP Business Warehouse and BI tools;

· Experience in design and develop SAP BW cubes and other BI objects for any required SAP ECC module (HR and others);

· Experience in design and develop programmes on SAP using ABAP language;

· Experience in SAP ECC data models especially HR and Finance module and have practical knowledge to extract needed information from SAP and store it into tables in MS SQL format;

· Experience in using Microsoft SQL products especially Integration Services SSIS.

· Training skills and ability to make clear presentations;

· Teamwork and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

dESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with UNRWA or other UN agencies.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

· The duration of the consultancy is 9 months with the expected start date of April 2019;

· Remuneration for this consultancy will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate;

· The incumbent will be based in Amman or Gaza; according to the country of residence of the candidate;

· The incumbent will be expected to travel in the Agency’s area of operations.
