Job Description

The successful candidate will coordinate the sales and operational activities between the overseas offices and the headquarter;

observes and supervises all relevant details pertaining to the fulfillment of the Arab Potash Company’s (APC) sales and operational policies;

ensures that implementation, planning and management of the potash sales are in accordance with the overall pricing and distribution strategies of the Company, generates leads and potential business opportunities that include developing new accounts and establishing new overseas sales/operational offices in new markets; and undertakes activities that ensure the competitiveness of APC in an oversupplied global market.

The Global Sales and Operations Manager (GSOM) frequently travels locally and internationally to meet, negotiate and successfully close Company’s sales and operations contracts with clients, customers, partners, service providers, distributors, and dealers.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Selling the Company’s products, including the new grades, at the best terms and conditions possible to maximize the Company’s profit and market share.
  •  Establishing new overseas/operational offices to help APC positions in new, important and high net back markets.
  • Managing APC presence in special regions including managing overseas offices which requires staying abroad for long periods of time.
  • Working and coordinating closely with the Sales and Operations Directors.
  • Coordinating the sales and operational activities of the Overseas offices with the headquarter.
  • Looking for the best ways to service APC’s clients operationally which ensure the timely delivery of the product.
  • Updating the Sales and Operations Directors and VP – Marketing & Sales about the sales activities (sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client’s base expansion).
  • Planning market needs by receiving reports from channels, sales representatives, and Company agents.
  • Managing APC’s relationships with its agents, representatives and channels in the area of responsibility.
  • Plans shipping requirements for APC customers through the coordination with the Marketing Operations Department.
  • Monitors the shipping process by coordinating with the Shipping Manager, concerned departments and agencies.
  • Meeting with key clients, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Ensuring that all customers’ complaints are resolved by coordinating with the Customers Service Department.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the activities of the competition.
  • Preparing periodic reports regarding the activities and achievements to be submitted to the Sales and Operations Directors.
  • Keeping APC’s news, classified information and process confidential and focusing on APC’s best interest at heart. This entails not engaging in any line of activities that would be considered a conflict of interest with APC.
  • Performing other duties related to his job as assigned by the Sales or Operations Directors.

Skills

  • BA or BSc from a recognized university in marketing, logistics, economics, agriculture, or any related field.
  • At least 6-8 years of work experience in the fields of the international sales, logistics, commerce, or business management with international reputable organization(s).
  • Ability and flexibility to travel extensively and to work and manage overseas offices and stay abroad for long periods of time.
  • Organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with managing people.
  • Safety Awareness and commitment.
  • High fluency in English & Arabic; reading, speaking, and writing.
  • Ability to review the feasibility studies.
  • Ability to work within teams.
  • The successful candidate must be a non-smoker.

Job Description

Manage the tendering team and insure the bidding activity, the Offer/Bid fulfillment supervision and lead on all aspects of the purchasing & tendering process from initial RFQs, IFBs, to awarding ensuring that a fair, open, and competitive purchasing &tendering process is used, following a neutral and secure procedure for opening the bids.

Lead the tendering team and supervise the supply functions covering planning, supply cost optimization and logistics in order to ensure procurement of the best value spare parts, equipment, consumables, and projects and/or services that meet the current and future needs of production and associated departments and support the achievement of company objectives.

  • Review current tendering process and recommend the areas of improvement
  • Speed up the tendering process and Improve the tendering cycle time
  • Review the scope of required products / services before floating the tenders
  • Conduct proper reengineering to judge the pricing of offered products / services
  • Conduct prequalification process for the vendors
  • Conduct total cost of ownership for strategic projects
  • Apply “procure to pay” concept
  • Enhance the cost optimization concept in all tendering transactions
  • Continuous Follow up with the vendors to avoid any delay or failure in projects execution
  • Conduct performance evaluation for the vendors
  • Conduct efficient negotiations with the vendors

Skills

  • BSc from a recognized university in Industrial Engineering or any related field.
  • MSc. MBA or Industrial Engineering – Administration is preferred
  • Safety Awareness and commitment.

  • Having capability to conduct commercial analysis for big projects
  • Having ability to review the feasibility studies
  • External certification is plus
  • Good knowledge on ERP systems

  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement / tendering / supply chain in reputable.
  • Having good experience with Incoterms and supply chain.
