POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION

 Position: IM/IT OFFICER
 Based in: Amman with some travel to PU-AMI intervention areas.

Supervision

 Under the direct supervision of: Deputy Head of Mission
 Works in cooperation with: MEAL Manager and Log Manager

ABOUT PREMIERE URGENCE- AIDE MEDICALE INTERNATIONALE (PU-AMI)

Première Urgence –Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-governmental international aid organization operating in more than 20 countries and relying on more than 30 years of experience in responding to the fundamental needs of crisis affected populations. Present in the Middle East since 1996, PU-AMI conducts multi-sectoral humanitarian and resilience programming in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen. PU-AMI provides relief assistance (health and nutrition, water and sanitation, rehabilitation, food security and non-food item distribution, protection) and supports early recovery. PU-AMI’s actions are guided by principles of humanity, impartiality, independence, accountability, adaptability, transparency, cooperation and partnership, involvement, dialogue, initiative, and trust.

In Jordan, PU-AMI has been responding since 2013 to the needs of most vulnerable populations affected by the Syria crisis in host communities. Through a community-based approach, the objectives of PU-AMI in Jordan are the following: Provide emergency/life-saving cash assistance to most vulnerable population to meet their basic needs Improve access to services for most vulnerable populations in host communities Support initiatives at community level to ensure social cohesion and economic empowerment opportunities for most vulnerable populations

OVERALL MISSION

General objective Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Head of Mission and in close collaboration with the MEAL Manager and Log Manager, the IM/IT OFFICER is responsible for supporting PU-AMI’s operations in Jordan by assisting in implementing efficient and high standard IT procedures and services.

Objective Mission Level Design and Supervision of IT, Data base management and software development
• Ensure proper use and develop team skills on ODK/KoboToolbox software in collaboration with the MEAL Manager.
• Support the MEAL team for an efficient use of ODK/KoboToolbox.
• Responsible for the follow-up of tablets devices, configure and maintain applications on tablets/user devices.
• Deploy applications, provide quality service delivery, technical support, tablets and applications maintenance, bugs and errors solving, to ensure proper user access to tablets and other installed applications. Combine, organize and arrange all documents from all departments and upload them on server networks in well manner and timely updated.
• Develop Excel sheet matrix’ to enhance PU-AMI data base analysis
• Deploy, configure, and maintain ICT systems and databases, including networks, servers, and telecommunications. Troubleshoot and address issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide timely and quality service delivery, technical support, and advice to user requests to ensure proper user access to agency business data and information.
• Maintain inventory of ICT equipment, hardware, and software and ensure adequate supply and functionality, in collaboration with relevant staff.
• Provide input to budget for ICT related expenses.
• Coordinate relationships with suppliers to facilitate delivery of ICT-related services that meet PUAMI business requirements and needs.
• Support capacity building initiatives to staff and partners to ensure efficient and consistent adoption and use of ICT applications.
• Prepare statistical reports on ICT-related data and metrics. As needed, implement measures to ensure required standards are met.
• Develop and deploy cyber security awareness and training materials • In support of the MEAL Coordinator, lead and design MEAL related IM activity
• Develop mission technical templates for MEAL
• Harmonize level databases in accordance with stated strategy;
• Develop in conjunction with MEAL Coordinator a migration plan for existing and new data.
• Design analysis templates for assessments and surveys with the MEAL based on harmonized templates. • Lead base level and mission level electronic archiving and backup systems;
• Suggesting adapted ways of tracking projects with quality data based on the development of monitoring activities and systems by the MEAL;
• Developing SoPs in line with the new strategy and ensuring adherence throughout the teams.
• In coordination with the MEAL to identify key aspects of the MEAL working relationship and data management to highlight areas of weakness that require stronger working systems in place to develop them with the MEAL team;
• Design and lead training in line with new job descriptions for enhanced capacity amongst the MEAL, logistic and program departments. The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.
PROFILE

Required Background, knowledge & Skills:
Educational background in IT or software development.
Bachelor degree or higher is required or equivalent experience in related field.
Desired certifications include Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or equivalent, Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent, Microsoft SharePoint Foundations or equivalent and ITIL Foundation Certified.
Minimum of three year’s work experience in a position with similar responsibilities.
Experience in introduction, design, implementation, and adoption of relevant technology and data management tools.
Demonstrated capacity in management of network/server software and hardware devices and platforms.
Grasp of complex network, security, mobile, desktop, server, telephony, backup, application and database technologies.
Ability to install and manage an office server Training experience Fluent in Arabic and English (speaking/reading/writing)

Comfortable seeking guidance and clarification in a timely manner as needed to succeed in the role

Desirable: Acquaintance with NGO’ rules, procedures and regulations,
Knowledge of ODK systems/KoboToolbox
Ability to develop software
