Background:
The Middle East Regional Office based in Amman, Jordan was created in January 2014 as part of NRC’s reorganization process. We currently have more than 3,000 staff in the Middle East region assisting people displaced by conflict in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Palestine. Our work is concentrated on the shelter, education, food security, legal assistance and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors with strong protection and resilience focus integrated into our programs.
NRC operations in the Middle East have grown significantly in recent years and further growth is expected in the months to come. Overview:
The HR Officer is responsible for providing support to the HR and Recruitment team in the regional HR office.
Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Generic responsibilities
Ensure adherence to NRC policies and the local labor law in all procedures and processes
Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action
Prepare and develop HR & Recruitment reports as required by management
Ensure proper filing of documents related to HR and Recruitment
Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
Ensure and follow up with HQ that staff records are up to date and filed appropriately
Manage and coordinate the on boarding process for all international staff in the region
Support in any other issue relevant for the Middle East Regional Office HR function
Advise and support Line Managers in basic HR processes
Specific responsibilities
Recruitment Support
Schedule interviews and tests as required for all recruitments
Advertise positions on local and NRC websites and advertising channels.
Develop, build and maintain candidate relationships through ongoing communications regarding questions, updates and status during the interview process
Provide Weekly and monthly Recruitment updates and other HR statistics as required
Keep the Recruitment database and tracking sheet up to date at all times.
HR Support
Support the HR Advisor in administrative tasks related to HR
Develop and maintain an accurate database of international staff information
Coordinate international staff inductions and exits through Amman
Responsible for contract management for all staff in the region, including job offers and contract amendments for international staff
Fulfill any other related tasks that may be assigned by the line manager.
Our ideal candidate:
A university degree in Business Administration, with Minimum 2 years’ experience from working as HR Officer in an international environment.
A team player who enjoys working and interacting with colleagues, and work together to achieve the HR department objectives.
Details oriented person, who enjoys working with systems and data, very organized, keep deadlines and databases up-to- date.
Excellent communication skills, good level of English is a must.
Additional:
[12 months’ contract with possibility of extension]
