Field Monitor Coordinator

The role
The Field Monitor Coordinator is response for oversight of a team of field monitors inside Syria. They will be responsible for day-to-day management of this team including security management and development and review of deliverables. They will be responsible, along with other key stakeholders on staff, of developing clear roles and responsibilities – as well as clear standard operating procedures for the field monitors – and rolling out regular training in these areas. Along with the security staff, they will need to have a strong knowledge and keep current om political, access, conflict, and humanitarian context and contextual updates. He/she will work closely with the Nutrition PM, MEAL Manager and security team to develop and contextualize regular assessment tools.
Qualifications and experience
Required
· At least 2-4 years of experience working with remotely managed cross-border programming in the Syrian context.
· Strong understanding of the Southern Syria context
· Background in social sciences, international development or other relevant field.
· Experience of remote managing programmes in complex settings
· Experience of, and commitment to, working through systems of community participation and accountability
· A strong understanding of the Syrian context
· Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
· Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
· A team player who is able to work collaboratively and with people of diverse backgrounds
· Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
· Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
· Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
Contract length: 6 Months
