Right to Play (RTP) is a global organization that uses the transformative power of play to educate and empower children facing adversity. Through sports and games, RTP helps children in more than 20 countries build essential life skills and better futures, while driving social change in their communities in sustainable and lasting ways. Right to Play’s mission is to use sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities. RTP Jordan was established in 2006, focusing on children and youth in the most vulnerable areas of Jordan. Its aim is to enhance equality of education within the Jordanian formal education frameworks, in addition to using sports for comprehensive child and youth development including psychosocial support, life skills and community cohesion.
Position Description
Right to Play is in search of a full-time Field-Based Coordinator to serve as focal point between RTP and the Community Development Center (CDC) based in Zarqa, Jordan. CDC is a community-based organization that works to address the needs of Palestinian and Syrian refugees in the Zarqa area through programming aimed at youth empowerment, psychosocial support for children, prevention of gender-based violence, emergency preparedness, and advocacy. This position will be based at CDC offices with travel to RTP offices in Amman as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Communicate with relevant staff members at both RTP and CDC in a clear and timely manner via phone, email and in-person communication as needed
· Assist in coordinating and implementing any activities, trainings, and events between RTP and CDC
· Support staff in delivering trainings on topics such as conflict management, community building, and youth empowerment
Requirements
· Native Arabic speaker
· Strong English speaker
· Bachelor’s degree, social sciences preferred
· Minimum two (2) years of professional experience is social work-related position
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Driver’s license preferred
Additional
It is preferred that the candidate lives locally in order to have a comprehensive understanding of the local environment and community.
Salary will range between 440-550 JOD monthly depending on qualifications and experience. Deadline for applications is January 13, 2019.
