Purpose:

To execute human resources activities including handling systems, HR daily operations and staff separation within organization policies and procedures.Provides technical guidance and support towards key country HR processes in accordance with Plan’s HR principles, policies, best practices and standards.

Typical Responsibilities – Key End Results of Position:

  • Lead on the recruitment processes to ensure that Plan Jordan has a functional work force with guidance of HR Policies.
  • Coordinate the process of selecting and contracting individual, consultants in line with Plan policy and procedures.
  • Liaison with the Social Security, Taxation , medical insurance company on regular interactions to ensure effective relationship and that services is being provided with quality.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual HR forecast in line with the annual budget.
  • Maintain an effective hard copy and electronic human resources information system ensuring completeness and accuracy of records at all times in line with organizational standards and fitting practices.
  • Provide support in identifying and mitigating human resources risks including HR initiatives.
  • Provides support in developing and implementing country HR policies. Clarify HR policies and related queries to staff.
  • Facilitate the process of annual appraisals including training staff, following up on the process and conducting performance review sessions when appropriate.
  • Collate annual leave plans from all staff for effective leave planning, monitoring and management in line with HR Policy Manual provisions.
  • Prepare quality HR quarterly and year end reports within stipulated timeframes for review by the Country CO.
  • Supervise the office cleaning and security.
  • Handle the employees’ personnel files and filing system.
  • Work closely with the Child Safeguarding focal points to ensure the proper and effective implementation of the Safeguarding (including the Code of Conduct) Policy, and to address any breaches in its implementation.
  • Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to child safeguarding, code of conduct and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be required by the line manager.

Application of knowledge required for the role, complexity of problems handled & the degree of investigation, analysis, & creative thinking required to solve them.

  • The post holder is required to demonstrate the ability to solve problems objectively and equitably, think strategically while introducing innovations as needed to meet the demands of a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable internal and external employment environment
  • He/she is also expected to ensure that Plan policies and local labor laws are adhered to
  • Harmonizing multiple demands from client groups

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

Knowledge

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related discipline.
  • Prior experience of working on education and protection projects will be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of field based monitoring and relationship building.

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in general human resources
  • Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline
  • A diploma in human resources management
  • Good understanding and application of the country labour laws.

Skills

  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills

  • High degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS office tools
  • Fluency in English is a must

Type of Role: six months fixed term contract

Location: Plan international country office in Jordan, based in Amman
Reports to: Senior Operations Coordinator

Level of Contact with Children: Low level of contact

Physical Environment and demands: Typically office environment with periodic travel to the program areas
