The Opportunity:

The Field coordinator is responsible for providing management leadership and oversight in implementing all the project interventions in development. S/he will work with the relevant Ministries, local partners and community based organizations, and other programme staff to ensure the timely implementation and Quality of the project.

Responsibilities include:

Technical Expertise

•Support the delivery of effective programs, in development contexts in stressed communities.

•Support field staff in the timely implementation of activities through facilitation of and advising on implementation of different interventions.

•Assist the Community Mobilizer specialist in solving problem arising in their work in the field.

•Assist in the preparation of work plans, reports and other project or management materials

•Assist in developing weekly / monthly plans and provide follow up support in implementing those plans

•Conduct regular field visits to verify quality progress of all projects interventions to ensure that activities are implemented in an appropriate manner and to provide operational and technical guidance and advice.

•Support all related activities including workshops, parental awareness sessions and meetings ensuring that the participants are informed, event packages are prepared and all logistics are organized and proper program expenditure

•Work closely the management in order to ensure the quality of the project activities.

•Provide timely and quality inputs.

•Support the project in all project quantitative and qualitative reports and track evidence of results.

•Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

Monitoring & Evaluation

•Monitor and evaluate the implementation of activities implemented in the targeted area to ensure they are completed according to plan and in a timely and effective manner, giving particular attention to quality aspects.

•Ensure the collection and consistency of qualitative and quantitative data for submission to MEL team.

•Ensure regular reports are compiled, describing activities, indicators and lessons learned and ensure timely submission on the deadlines agreed.

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

  • University degree in related field
  • 2-3 years of experience working in INGO environment

Knowledge

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related discipline
  • A relevant post graduate qualification is desirable.
  • Understanding of community development principles and strategies including rights based programming.
  • Knowledge of project management.
    Skills
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Reports writing skills.
  • Good communication, presentation and problem solving skills.
  • Good level of English language.

Type of Role: 4 months fixed contract

Location: Amman – Plan international Jordan office

Reports to: Community Mobilization Specialist
