PURPOSE OF POSITION

Support the MEAL officer in the different monitoring and data related activities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Data entry of quantitative data, clean data and conduct data analysis.
2. Supervise all M&E casual workers (Enumerators)
3. Conduct observations, Focus Group Discussions and feedback sessions with different persons of different age groups (children, youth, adults) and different gender.
4. Enter data from FGDs, observations and feedback sessions, participate in data analysis and draft reports
5. Compile data from surveys using relevant and appropriate computer packages
6. Ensure that hard copies and soft copies of data collected is kept at project sites in addition to do the needed verification
7. Support in preparing daily informative field reports
8. Support in the process of collection feedback and complaints through different channels
9. Handle any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the MEAL officer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Bachelor degree in international development, international relations, public health, nutrition, statistics, rural development, data management, or other relevant discipline

· Minimum 6 months’ experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection activities (surveys, assessments, monitoring, evaluations, etc.)

· Fluency in speaking English and Arabic is required

· Ability to write very good quality reports in English is required

· Good contextual knowledge of local community and social/cultural constraints, realities and organizational relationships

· Inspires trust within/outside of the organization

· Develops high levels of credibility and accountability

· Minimum one-year experience of working in a relief or development agency (preferably in the monitoring and evaluation domain)

· Knowledge of child protection / child rights

· Good command of Arabic and English and French if needed

· Computer literate mainly with MSOffice software package Good communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships

· Ability to deal with children and people from different cultures and backgrounds

· Ability to foster a good team spirit

· Ability to transmit information correctly with accountability and maintain confidentiality
