Org. Setting and Reporting

The Investigation Assistant (Intake) reports to the Investigations Officer (Intake), HQ Amman.

Responsibilities

– Assists the Central Intake Unit (CIU) Investigations Officer (Intake) in the efficient organization and administration of the Agency’s misconduct intake process in matters related to the assessment of allegations of misconduct;

– Supports the functions of CIU including:
– Undertakes the role of secretary (as a non-voting member) of all Investigations Division Intake Committees meetings and is responsible for preparation and finalization
of IC meeting minutes;
– Summarizes allegations and, where necessary, conducts basic translation of complaint information from Arabic into English for cases to be reviewed by the Intake
Committee;
– Performs as the primary misconduct hotline officer for DIOS;

– Conducts tasks of administrative nature for the CIU including maintaining all working records, including strictly confidential case files; and works with other support staff in field offices regarding the accuracy of investigations-related data;

– Coordinates with administrative personnel in DIOS and elsewhere as required, including being a backup for the DIOS Administrative Officer;

– Arranges in coordination with the relevant offices travel arrangements for Investigations Division staff, including travel management and other support required for Investigation Division staff;

Education

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Law, Investigations, Human Resources, Management, or a related discipline.

Work Experience

– At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in supporting investigation, administrative inquiries, or similar work;
– Experience in the United Nations system (Desirable);
– Knowledge of administrative or investigative duties (Desirable);
– Training in time management.(Desirable).

Languages

Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Arabic.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment

Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

The Investigation Assistant (Intake) may be required to work beyond regular working hours.

This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates. Only candidates residing in Jordan with authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible to apply. The Agency will not assume responsibility or accountability to support or facilitate the issuance of work permit in Jordan, and without a valid work permit, the appointment may be rescinded.

Condition of service:
Monthly basic salary JD 780 Plus special occupation allowance of 0.06% of the basic salary. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
