Position Summary

Search for Common Ground seeks a professional, motivated, and creative Regional HR Manager to join the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional team. Based in Amman, Jordan the Regional HR Manager will provide support to SFCG’s MENA regional programming that covers geography of 10 countries across the region.

Reporting to the MENA Regional Director (based in Amman) and functionally to the Global HR Director (based in Washington, DC), the MENA Regional HR Manager role will be ​responsible for ​providing HR services and support to management and staff for the MENA Region in alignment with Search global HR strategic planning and standards and in coordination with HR country teams. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people through organizational change, as we are expanding our MENA Regional Office in Amman.

Key Responsibilities

Partners with the MENA Regional Management team to develop and implement the HR regional plan and activities.

  • Leads recruitment across MENA (All staff in Regional Office and key roles in country offices)
  • Provides HR guidance when appropriate to meet HR standards in field offices in MENA
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with local legal counsels​ as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, etc).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develop training plans, facilitates HR trainings ensuring that training objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive experience as an HR professional​ in an international environment​ with multiple offices (MENA regional office or Jordan Country Office)
  • Human resource management experience in the MENA Region and Jordan
  • Working knowledge of human resources related laws​ and the ability to understand different labor markets requirements​
  • Proficiency using HRIS systems, Microsoft suite and Google Docs,
  • Ability to operate at all levels in a complex environment
  • Written and oral fluency in English and Arabic is required. French is a bonus.

  • The ability to juggle different responsibilities while managing competing priorities.
  • This position will require 15% travelling.

This position will close on August 31st, 2018. Expected start date on October 1st, 2018.
