Job Summary
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for the control, development and maintenance of all QA/QC programs, meeting HACCP, GMP, and Customer & Authority requirements and ensuring the quality and safety of supplied goods. Must have strong knowledge in Preventive Controls for Human Food. A strong background in food processing, quality assurance and strong understanding of International Standards, is a must.

This Quality Assurance & Food Safety Specialist will be Responsible for leading and directing all company food safety and quality assurance activities, including R&D, Production, Operations, product enhancements, etc..

He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing quality and food safety systems to ensure operational compliance to internal and external regulations. As an R&D and Production based resource, this position requires working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, global quality & food safety functions and regulatory affairs to identify opportunities to improve product quality, systems and safety.

– Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and execution of product food safety and quality programs to support the organization’s goals of operational excellence, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and market leadership.
Responsible for developing an on-going maintenance of the Food Safety Production Plan.
Must be able to identify deficiencies and implement new strategies.
Must be able to draft, discuss, and implement SOP’s.
Ensure all HACCP, GMP’s, sanitation preventive controls, supply chain preventive controls and all other prerequisite food safety standards are met according to FDA, FSIS, and corporate requirements.
Must engage all QC personnel in all areas of food safety and quality within the flow.
Manage the written recall program.
Ensure complete traceability of incoming raw material and finished product while managing lot/batch code tracking.
Ensure labeling is accurate in accordance with finished packed product.
Oversee all food safety audits conducted by government and third party agencies.
Respond to customer safety and quality concerns as needed.
Will lead a large team of skilled Quality Control officers, and be in charge of developing, overseeing, and managing their day to day activities.
Will Have to come in at least 3 Times a week during the production process, to observe, coach, and rectify any discrepancies or findings.
Must be able to conduct staff Training, and lead by example.
Should have Deep understanding and knowledge of the Jordanian food safety laws and regulations.
Develop a strategic plan for food safety and product quality (from raw materials to finished food products, including in-store handling and proper dispatch of finished products).

– Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate should have strong charismatic personality, Perfectionist, Fluent in English, and be able to work under stress.
At least 10 years of experience, with minimum 5 years directly related experience required in Quality Assurance and Food Safety manufacturing role.
Experienced in Poultry manufacturing is a plus.
HACCP certification is a must.
Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCQI) is a Plus.
GFSI auditor certification is a plus.
Strong understanding of required third party audits.
Working knowledge of food processing and distribution regulations.
Experience developing and motivating personnel.
Track record of food safety/QA success in any of the following focus areas a plus: meat, poultry, seafood, processed foods, distribution, proprietary/private-label product development and/or monitoring.
B.S. degree in food technology, food science, Veterinary, or related curriculum and/or experience required.
Ability to function effectively within a fast-paced, diverse and evolving corporate culture is necessary.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn various software and web-enabled programs.
Must have Lab Experience Background.
Must be a strong, persuasive communicator and coach, with the ability to relate to other professionals, peers, and field operators, both technical and non-technical.
Strong data management, strong reporting skills, and technical writing skills.
