Here’s where you come in:

As the Communications Director for World Vision’s Syria Response team, you will strategically and operationally lead field communications for the Syria Crisis Response. This role will provide the leadership, support and resources that will enable the World Vision organisation to appropriately engage with its various public engagement audiences in order to raise funds, profile, and support advocacy efforts, while also protecting and promoting the organisation’s response work. You will effectively assist the Response Director and Response Managers in all required key communication and statements. You will be responsible for developing and operating an Enterprise Risk Management system that protects the organisation’s integrity. The main focus of this role will be on the regional response and the country responses in Syria, Jordan, and Turkey.

Requirements include:

• Masters in the field of Journalism or public relations or another relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant work experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience with international exposure/external engagement on humanitarian emergencies or fragile country contexts.
• Strong journalistic skills, ability to facilitate the collection of photo, video, story and social media resources.
• Full adherence to World Vision Child Protection, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding of social and political environment.
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken. Arabic is an advantage.
• Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function in unpredictable and potentially hostile environments.
• At least 25% travel required.
