Position Title: Social Media and Communications Intern

Background: Collateral Repair Project (CRP) in Amman, Jordan has been providing assistance to refugee victims of violent conflict since 2006. Our programs seek to restore dignity among these displaced populations as well as ensure their basic needs are met. We do so through running an Emergency Assistance Program and a Family Resource and Community Center, which hosts a varied program of activities and learning opportunities to allow refugees to re-build the community ties they have lost. CRP’s great strengths are the wealth of knowledge we have about the refugee community in Amman and the strong relationships we have developed with the individuals we serve.

Intern will report to Director of Communications and Grants.

Commitment: At least three full days per week, for a minimum of three months.

Position Description:

CRP is seeking a social media & communications intern. This intern will be responsible for helping to develop and implement social media strategy on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, including day-to-day operating and during fundraising campaigns. They will write one to two blog posts per week about activities and beneficiaries at CRP. This including interviewing beneficiaries and crafting compelling stories for our audience of donors/supporters. While spoken Arabic is a plus, it is not necessary for this internship.

Qualifications:

Great writing and photography skills are required. The intern will also take photos as needed for various uses. They will format and write CRP’s monthly newsletter and round up nonprofit news for the Executive Director. The intern will report to the Director of Grants & Communications.
