ASSISTANT HEAD, PURCHASING SERVICES
Assists and supports the Department Head in the overall management operations and administration of Purchasing Services for the procurement of all medical/non-medical supplies, equipment and purchase services for all Hospital requirement.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1.Serves as systems lead for the Purchasing Services Department and assumes the duties of the Department Head in his/her absence.
2.Advises and assists purchasing Services staff and vendors the proper purchasing procedures/processes and computerized systems, and applicable government regulations.
3.Ensures that suppliers are appropriately trained of the paperless system through the iSupplier of the Oracle System.
4.Assists the Department’s Head in managing the daily functions of the staff, as assigned.
5.Serves as liaison on matters pertaining to discrepancies as they impact the procurement processes.
6.Analyzes and prioritizes newly received requisitions.
7.Assists in the resolution of issues regarding purchase orders, shipping details, vendor payments, purchase change orders cancellation/ modification.
8.Assists and coordinates in the selection, training, and hiring of staff.
9.Meets with vendors for updates on the latest technologies and provides purchasing oversight to staff that involves increased analysis of trends in supplies purchasing.
10.Develops and maintain strong professional relationships with end-users to improve purchasing practices.
11.Recommends to the Department Head the means to further formulate strategies to enhance procurement processes.
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or other related discipline is required.
- Certified Supply Chain Manager or Purchasing Manager is an advantage.
