TERMS OF REFERENCE
Position: Local Coordinator
Contracted by: Vento di Terra
Duty Station: Amman, VdT Jordan office, with frequent travels to Mafraq (3 times a week)
Name of the project: “Rights to the center 3”
Directly reports to: Project Manager
Under the overall supervision of the Country Representative and the Project Manager, the Local Coordinator will be directly responsible for the coordination of the activities and overseeing the progress of the projects. The Local Coordinator will be responsible of the activities daily oversight and the activities reporting.
Main tasks and responsabilities:
Attend meetings (with INGOs, local NGOs and CBOs) and develop reports and MoM, keep close communication with all the stakeholders involved in the project; advise on risks during the project implementation and make recommendation for risk mitigation measures
Assist the PM in coordinating the implementation of all aspects of the project within the expected timetabale and track the progress and quality of work; use project scheduling and control tools to monitor the projects plan, the working hours, and the expenditures.
Assist the PM in the supervision, guidance and monitoring of the project staff, ensuring the implementation of the projects plans and priorities; encourage effective teamwork to facilitate that project objectives are met.
Conduct frequent visit to the project site (at least three times a week) to coordinate field activities and local staff in order to ensure high qualitative standards in accordance with the project implementation timeline;
Effectively communicate with relevant local authorities including MoE, MOPIC, MOSD, area’s directorate (MOE), public schools, local municipalities
Ensure the timely completition of all the documentation and reports required by national authorities and international organizations (Joriss, Activity Info, Service Advisor) and support the Project Manager in providing timely and accurate reports to donor and ministries.
Establish a project database and ensure that all the documents and informations are accurately filed and organized, and immediately accessible to project staff.
Keep the PM and others informed about project status, support in the implementation of an effective internal communication system, ensuring that informations are constantly shared among the relevant actors
Participate in thematic sector working groups in UNHCR.
Contribute to contracts preparation
· Degree in political, human, social science or equivalent; a Master degree in Development Cooperation or Human Rights or any subject in line with the objective of the action is a plus;
· Previous experience in humanitarian sector and education;
· Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written, is essential;
· Good organizational skills and high level of operational autonomy;
· Good skills and previous experience in relating with key stakeholders: donors, local institutions, partners;
· Strong communication skills and networking abilities;
· Good computer skills
· High abilities in analysis and problem solving;
· Driving license.
This is a national position.
Work contract: project contract, with possibility of extension depending on renewal or approval of new projects
