Project Coordinator for Regional Campaign to Prevent and Combat Violence Against Women and Girls
EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is a policy network that provides expertise in the field of gender equality, democracy building and citizenship, and advocates for political solutions to all conflicts, and peoples´ rights to self-determination. It encompasses women’s rights organizations from the two shores of the Mediterranean and seeks to correct the gender power imbalances through ending discrimination and oppression of women and bringing about positive change for the whole society. Starting from 1st January 2019, EuroMed Feminist Initiative is implementing a three-year multi-country project “Combating Violence against Women in the Southern Mediterranean Region”, funded by the EU. The overall objective is to contribute to the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the Southern Neighborhood States.
For the purpose of the project, EFI has built a consortium with credible and experienced national organizations in Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine, Algeria, Jordan and Egypt: In Lebanon with Najdeh and Rassemblement Democratique des Femmes Libanaises RDFL, in Tunisia with Association des Femmes Tunisiennes pour la Recherche sur le Développement (AFTURD ), in Morocco with Union pour l’Action Féministe (UAF) , in Palestine with Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD), in Algeria with Fondation pour l’Egalité – CIDDEF, in Jordan with Arab Women Organization (AWO) and in Egypt with Association for Appropriate Communication Techniques for Development (ACT).
For this project, IFE-EFI is looking for a qualified Coordinator based in Amman.
The Overall Responsibility as a Project Coordinator is:
-To follow up and coordinate activities; support the follow up on projects and reports with project partners; maintain relations with them; program administration and archiving, supporting the reporting and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
-To contribute to elaborating EFI’s strategic framework and identifying opportunities that would contribute into the achievement of EFI’s goals and vision.
We seek a person who:
-Engages with partners and other counterparts to ensure successful implementation of the project.
-Ensures the effectiveness and success of the project, the timely implementation of all activities and the meeting of deadlines.
-Follows up and monitors project budget specifically for operation lines; works closely with Communication Officer, Finance Team and Logistics Team in respect of EFI main framework such as procurement, ethical guidelines and anti-corruption policy.
-Prepares and submits timely and quality reports as per the requirements of EU.
-Disseminates the relevant information to consortium members and relevant stakeholders for necessary action.
-Oversees and monitors the delivery and distribution of visibility materials; coordinates with the communication agency on design, content and packaging suitable to each country context and EU requirements.
-Organizes regular meetings with partners to discuss project impediments, risks and assumptions, needed resources or issues/delays in completing planned tasks.
-Leads the base line survey, project assessments, designs and weekly/monthly planning and review meetings.
-Develops and maintains strong partnership relations and ensures smooth and fruitful communication with all partners and stakeholders.
-On request, represents EFI at seminars, conferences, meetings and other events, and acts as a spokesperson appropriately.
-Takes part in regular staff meeting and ensures the weekly task report to be in line with performance management; contributes to data and records collection for the audit process.
This position reports directly to Regional Manager and Executive Director.
Close collaboration with Program Team at Headquarters in Paris and with Observatory research team and Communication Coordinator who are based in Amman.
Regular contact with EFI’s partners in the MENA region.
-University degree in human social sciences. -Relevant courses related to gender studies, conflict management, advocacy, project cycle management.
-Excellent written and oral communication in English and Arabic is essential. French language is desirable.
-Excellent Microsoft Office application, knowledge of online and social media tools is a plus.
-A minimum of four years of relevant work experience in project design and implementation.
-An established record or proven ability to conduct strategic planning, program development and monitoring and evaluation
-Knowledge in administrative and accounting procedures and financial reporting.
-Experience in advocacy campaigns and knowledge of civil society and networking.
-Knowledge of the situation and challenges in the MENA region
-Experience in organizing capacity building workshops, conferences, meetings and events.
-Ability to work closely and establish positive relationships with local structure and to engage with various stakeholders.
-Experience in local or international organizational representation.
-Capacity to carry out successful baseline survey, outreach and use M&E tools.
-Knowledge of women’s right, international law, including human rights, humanitarian law, criminal law and regional and international human rights mechanisms.Competencies: -Ability to take initiative, work with minimum supervision.

-Flexibility and team approach to programmatic work.
-Analytical and problem-solving approach.

-Communicates in a clear, precise and structured way, presents effectively.
-This role is open for qualified Jordanian candidates.
-Duty station is in Amman.
-A fixed-term position with contract length of 12 (twelve) months extendable.
