We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Human Resource Officer will be responsible for managing the site Human Resources. This may include recruitment, staffing, performance monitoring and provides advice and assistance to supervisors and staff.

Who are we?

DRC is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. With the vision that no displaced person must be in want of help to find protection and durable solutions, DRC provides assistance and protection to conflict-affected in many of the major conflicts in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The assistance can consist of relief and other humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and support to returning home, and the promotion of durable solutions.

About the job

Senior Human Resource Officer will be responsible for managing the site Human Resources. This may include recruitment, staffing, performance monitoring and provides advice and assistance to supervisors and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that accurate Terms of References are in place.
  • Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations.
  • Provide basic counselling to staff who have performance related obstacles.
  • Provide advice and assistance in developing human resource plans.
  • Provide staff orientations
  • Support the NSC in identifying team building opportunities
  • Maintain the necessary confidentiality of information
  • Monitor daily attendance.
  • Investigate and understand causes for staff absences.
  • Recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties.
  • Provide basic counselling to staff who have performance related obstacles.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions, in coordination with NSC
  • Monitor scheduled absences such as holidays or travel and coordinate actions to ensure the staff absence has been adequately covered off to ensure continuity of services.
  • Provide advice and assistance to supervisors on staff recruitment.
  • Schedule and organize interviews in coordination with NSC.
  • Participate in applicant interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks on possible candidates.
  • Inform unsuccessful applicants.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Support NSC in Develop and implement a human resources plan and personnel management policies and procedures
  • Provide advice and assistance to staff and management on pay and benefits systems.
  • Explain and provisions of the personnel policy.
  • Explain employment standards and legislation such as workers compensation, labor standards and Fair Practice Act.
  • Organize the transitional provisions of employee compensation, pay and benefits when positions are transferred or new positions are funded through contribution agreements and other special funding arrangements.
  • Monitor that all new staff in the site have read, understood and signed DRC Code of Conduct
  • Perform other related duties as required by the NSC.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:Qualifications/ experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience working in Human Resources, preferably with an international organization;
  • Successful experience working as part or lead of a Human Resources team, with demonstrated experience in office management, and basic admin/finance duties;
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments;
  • Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges;

Computer proficiency highly desirable, particularly use of MS Excel;

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business administration, or other relevant study.
  • Arabic & English (Fluent)

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a Six months including three month as probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work As Soon As Possible and be willing and able to work in Madaba -Jordan.
